Polyurethane is a liquid foam made of environmentally friendly materials that is injected as a liquid underneath the settled concrete then it sets up forming a rigid foam.
Foam jacking is the preferred method for lifting sunken concrete slab. Only a ⅜” wide hole is needed to inject the polyurethane foam through it and within a few minutes it will be leveled.
Polyurethane foam jacking is considered a permanent solution for uneven concrete. Polyurethane foam is a high density material in addition to being lightweight which reduces the overburden on the unstable soils under the concrete. Unlike mudjacking, polyjacking lasts much longer, and you don’t have to redo the lifting every few years.
- Mudjacking can be messy, as the materials are mixed onsite and the slurry is moved in a cart to the work area. While polyurethane foam jacking causes no mess as the equipment containing the foam is connected and sealed to the repair area.
- Polyurethane foam jacking requires only a ⅜” wide holes to be drilled, causing less noise than mudjacking which needs few 4 inch wide holes.
This point makes polyjacking the most comfortable way to repair settled concrete. Literally there will not be a single piece of equipment stepping on your lawn. As the repairing truck will be parked on the street and the pumping hose is ran straight from it to the site. So that, you don’t have to worry about the mess after the work is completed.
Polyurethane has a quick cure time which makes it better than mudjacking. Foot traffic is usually allowed during the polyjacking operation. In addition it can be driven on 30 minutes or less after the work is completed.
One of the many advantages of the polyurethane foam that it is waterproof. You don’t need to worry about wet days. Also you can use it for fixing the uneven concrete of the wet nature places such as pool decks.
Polyurethane foam is absolutely environmentally friendly as it is made from over 40% recycled materials. Our polyurethane foam doesn’t include toxic chemicals or flammable components.
Polyurethane foam jacking is economical solution for your sunken concrete. It is usually half the cost of the concrete replacement.
The answer to this question depends on how does the concrete surface look. If it is in good shape, then yes polyjacking is the best solution. But it will not be useful if the top surface is broken into multiple pieces or has lots of cracks.
